Guild Snippets

Current Happenings:

  • Wall quilts are on display at the Market Street Bakery in Chehalis through the end of June.  Stop by to see them.
  • SWW Rainy Daze Festival of Quilts will be held on July 16,17,18, 2009 at the Napavine High School Gymnasium.  Click on the Quilt Show tab at the top of the page for additional information.

  • The Guild is acting as a promotional partner for the Ricky Tims' Quilt Seminar to be held in Lynwood Washington On August 20-22, 2009.  For more information, go to www.rickytims.com.  If you are interested in attending the seminar, contact Elayne Novotny to join the group already signed up.
  • 2009 Block Party:  October 3 & 4.  Click on the button on the left hand menu for additional information.
  • Guild Members:  Fons and Porter magazine subscriptions are available for $20, which includes the annual subscription, two booklets and three spools of thread.  If you'd like to purchase or renew a subscription, contact Patty McMillan. 

Retreat:  The Guild sponsors a retreat every other year.  The next will be in 2010.  Click the tab at the top of the page for additional information.

Meeting Location:  Masonic Lodge in Chehalis.  Take the Hwy 6 Exit and go East into Chehalis.  The Masonic Lodge is through three lights and is on the right.  The address is 123 Main Street.  Parking is across the street or at Cascade Mental Health.  The parking lot for Cascade Mental Health is on the right side of the street just before you get to the Masonic Lodge.

Activities 

Round Robin:  The 2009 Round Robin has completed.  The quilts will be on display at the July meeting.

Quilt Challenge:  It's not too late to participate!  There are two fabric packets available for $5.00; contact Joy Danzer to purchase.  The quilts will be displayed at the Summer Picnic, August 11th and voted on by the members.  Prizes will be awarded in four categories:  Best of Show, Best Appliqué, Best Pieced. and Best Using Combined Techniques.

Mystery Quilt:  A mystery quilt started at the June meeting.  Click on the Mystery Quilt button at the top of the left hand menu for more information.

Themed Block Exchanges:  There are two themed block exchanges in progress, Halloween and Autumn.  These are for six months, April - September.  Participants who make their blocks into a top will show them at the December meeting.

Secret Stitchers:  There are 11 quilters participating in the 2009 Secret Stitchers program which runs May through December.  In 2010 the program will run from January - June and July - December.

UnFinished Objects (UFOs):  This is an ongoing program to encourage completion of those projects we have in process.  Bring your UFO to a meeting, share it during Show & Tell, and complete the registration form.  When it's complete bring it back and your name is entered in a drawing for a prize.
