Welcome!
Welcome to Southwest Washington Rainy Daze Quilt Guild. We are a 501(3)(c) organized community quilting group based in Lewis County Washington. We hope you will get involved in our projects and activities. By doing so, you will be joining an active group of creative people who represent the whole spectrum of quilting, from traditional to contemporary, from inexperienced to master quilters! Our common bond is our love for the art of quilting and our desire to share the experience with other quilters and our community.
As a Guild member, there are many opportunities for you to interact with other people interested in quilting. Our monthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of each month, start at 6:30 p.m. with a social half hour, during which time you may want to visit with others who are coordinating special activities, look through our library, or just get to know others better. After the social half hour, we have a business meeting followed by an educational program. The programs we offer vary from hands-on instruction to speakers who motivate, inform, and entertain us. We may feature a local quilt artist or bring in a featured speaker who is well known to the quilting world. The monthly meetings typically end between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
Meeting Location: Masonic Lodge in Chehalis. Take the Hwy 6 Exit and go East into Chehalis. The Masonic Lodge is through three lights and is on the right. The address is 123 Main Street. Parking is across the street or at Cascade Mental Health. The parking lot for Cascade Mental Health is on the right side of the street just before you get to the Masonic Lodge.
We have a recurring open sew day called "Sew Daze' held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.. Members come with their current projects and work for as long as they choose. An informal potuluck is the menu of the day, supplemented by ordered in food.
The Guild sponsors a Retreat during even numbered years and a Quilt Show during odd numbered years. Please click the Retreat and Guild Show tabs at the top of the page for additional information.
Membership participation and community support are vital to our goal of the promotion and preservation of the art of quilt making through education, workshops, lectures, and demonstration. We invite you to join us.
